In this edition of 60 Seconds With…, we meet Neil, one of our dedicated candle assistants who has been part of the journey since the early days.
Neil joined the company back in 2015, when everything was still new and growing. At the time, the role was a completely fresh challenge for him, but he was excited to be part of a young and evolving business. Over the years, he’s not only developed his own skills but has also had the rewarding experience of watching the company grow bigger and stronger, something he’s proud to have played a part in.

Working in the workshop, Neil’s role covers just about every step of the candle-making process. From pouring wax and gluing wicks to labelling and keeping the workspace tidy, no two days are exactly the same. While he enjoys the rhythm and focus of pouring, it’s actually the labelling that stands out as his favourite task.
In fact, Neil has turned it into a bit of a personal challenge. Each label is applied with careful precision, as he quietly competes with himself to get them as perfectly straight as possible. It’s a small detail, but one that reflects the pride he takes in his work and the care that goes into every finished product.
Of course, there are less enjoyable moments too. For Neil, the toughest part of the job comes when he has to head out to the storage containers in bad weather. Whether it’s pouring rain or snow, it’s never particularly appealing, but he knows the importance of keeping things running smoothly, and always gets the job done.
When it comes to fragrance, Neil stands by his favourite: Lavender Dusk. While it might have earned him a bit of good-natured teasing from the team, he appreciates its calming, balanced scent and isn’t afraid to stick by his choice.
Neil’s story is a lovely reminder that it’s often the quiet attention to detail and steady dedication behind the scenes that help bring everything together. Watch his IG interview here.
