60 Seconds With... Eilidh: Coffee, the Craic and Candles

60 Seconds With... Eilidh: Coffee, the Craic and Candles
For our latest 60 Seconds With... Instagram Reel, we caught up with Eilidh, one of the friendly faces behind Skye Candles. Whether she's welcoming customers in our Portree Visitor Centre shop, pouring reed diffusers in the workshop, or carefully packing orders for customers across the country, Eilidh's role is wonderfully varied – and that's exactly what she enjoys about it.

Eilidh joined Skye Candles three years ago, around the same time she launched her own beauty business. As her business grew, she could easily have moved on entirely, but she chose to stay with us on a part-time basis.

Why? The answer is simple: she genuinely loves working here.

One of the highlights of her role is the atmosphere in the workshop. While every day looks a little different, the workshop remains her favourite place to be. There's a relaxed, friendly environment that makes the work enjoyable, and she values being part of a close-knit team. It's a place where creativity and craftsmanship come together, and that sense of teamwork is something she appreciates every day.

Of course, every job has its less glamorous moments. For Eilidh, that comes in the form of packing orders destined for our stockists and shops. While it's an important part of keeping products moving across the country, she admits it can sometimes feel a little repetitive. The challenge of fitting products neatly into boxes and preparing larger shipments isn't quite as exciting as creating them in the workshop or chatting with customers in the shop.

What makes Eilidh such a great fit for Skye Candles is her willingness to turn her hand to whatever needs doing. On any given day, she could be helping visitors find the perfect gift, blending into the rhythm of the workshop as she pours reed diffusers, or making sure online orders are carefully packed and ready for dispatch. Her cheerful personality shines through in every aspect of her work and certainly comes across in her Reel interview.

When asked about her favourite Skye Candles fragrance, Eilidh didn't hesitate: Machair Flowers. For her, it's more than just a beautiful scent. The fragrance brings back memories of her granny's garden in Uist, making it a deeply personal favourite. It's a reminder of how scent can transport us to special places and cherished moments, something we love about fragrance here at Skye Candles.

We're delighted that Eilidh continues to be part of the Skye Candles team, balancing her successful beauty business with life in the workshop and shop. Be sure to watch her 60 Seconds With... Reel and discover more about the people who help bring our fragrances to life every day.
